2019/20 SEASON OVERVIEW

The Kingston Chamber Choir is entering our upcoming season as a revitalized organization, and we are thrilled to present our reimagined look. Building on 15 successful seasons, KCC is renowned for bringing moving choral performances to Kingston audiences. This year, we embark on a new mission honouring tradition, while diversifying our approach to the choral experience in the 21st century.

Highlights of our upcoming season include a collaborative concert for International Women’s Day with She Sings! and the Caledonia’s of Queen’s University, featuring compositions by female composers. A traditional choral concert of choral favourites will open our season and will be followed by a performance of popular and jazz choral music in February with special guest, Michelle Kasaboski.

Additional performances this season include Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, as well as an exciting collaboration with our friends at Albany Pro Musica in New York.

We are also thrilled to have Matthew Emery as our summer composer-in-residence. Matthew is currently working on a composition for our Inner Child concert, featuring the Kingston Youth Choir. With four main season concerts plus four additional performances in Kingston and New York state, this is an exciting season for the choir both at home and away. We hope to see you this season as we celebrate together the diversity of the choral experience.
