ABOUT MICHELLE:

Michelle is on a journey to establish herself as a top Jazz and Adult Contemporary singer in the Canadian music scene. Recently announced as a winner in the YGK Emerging Musician Competition, Michelle was one of six selected artists to perform original music at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts in September 2019.In addition to regular private and public performances in the Kingston and Surrounding Areas (Olivea’s “Tuesday Night Jazz”, Downtown Kingston's "Big Band Friday" series, and shows at the Thousand Islands Playhouse's Firehall Theatre - just to name a few!), Michelle is also completing her Bachelor of Music at Queen's University. Commended for her rich tone and vocal command, she continues to draw praise from audiences and musicians alike, including Juno Award Winning artists Ranee Lee (Vocal Jazz Album of the Year, 2010) and Hugh Johnston (Musicounts Teacher of the Year, 2012).

Michelle’s most recent successes include the release of a 5-song EP of favourite Jazz standards titled, “The Very Thought of You”, a sold-out concert at Kingston’s Grand Theatre in December 2018 and sold-out shows for the “Making the Artist” concert series (May, August, October 2019). Michelle will be returning to the Kingston Grand Theatre on December 15th, 2019 for her 3rd Annual Christmas Concert, followed by guest appearances at Juno-nominee John McDermott’s Christmas concerts in Ottawa and Kingston
