Choral ensembles have been a huge part of my life since the age of six in Niagara Falls. I expanded my musical horizons in high school, learning the flute and sax. As a voice major at Queen’s, I participated in more choral groups.
n my teaching career, my first year in Newfoundland, I taught vocal music to grade 1 to 11 students, then instrumental music here in Kingston, finishing my career teaching grade 3 using music in my class as well as as leading the music for the school. Church choirs have also been a staple through the years, including 20 years as music director at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
As has been said before, music is the best medicine, and in my life, that is so true.
